I'm wondering if this has happened to any other women in the dental bed before?

I made an appointment with my dental office to get my teeth cleaned, and then they asked me if I was pregnant, and that if I were pregnant that I couldn't get the services that I made my appointment for. All I wanted was for my teeth to be cleaned. Does it matter if I was pregnant or not? Is it anyone else' business in the dental office how sexually active I am? Has this happened to any other women before when they are trying to get something done to they're teeth? ....I mean, I don't think I look pregnant...

It's pretty standard now to ask a woman of childbearing age if they could be pregnant for any medical procedure, although I understand you taking offence. Personally I'm at an age when I'm kinda chuffed I still look young enough 😂

Joking aside though, pregnancy affects your whole body and it can have quite dramatic effects on your teeth (I knew a woman who lost hers through calcium lose caused by pregnancy) so I'd guess that's why you were asked.

OOOOOOhhhh.....wow. 😮 I didn't know that. I just learned something new. I still look young too though. I don't know if that true, but I get the same compliment now a days a whole lot.

Generally asked in case they need to do X-rays.

Due to our recent move and the fact that my former dentist was too far away, I hadn't gone for a dental cleaning in about a year until last week. Anyway, the previous dentist was skilled and did not mention cavities or anything similar. I found a new dentist and went for cleaning on the last day. The new one suggests filling some more places between/around the gums to stop things from getting in between and that I have five cavities that need to be filled. But I haven't had any issues with cavities. He seems to be trying to fool me. Anyway, I've decided to go see my dentist bristoldental.ca/services/o... the next week.
