Doctors can often mis-diagnose thrush... They have a bit of a confirmation bias thing going on sometimes. They should do swabs to confirm.

It's possibly not thrush at all, and if they continue to treat thrush that isn't there, it could make things worse.

Hi,I used to suffer with reoccurring thrush years ago. I found Canastan made me worse I had to use generic thrush treatments. I also tried natural yogurt on a tampon to help get my good bacteria working again, its a messy way but it helped me. I also used balance activ gel to keep myself healthy down there. I can't use any strong perfumed laundry products as they set me off. Everyone reacts differently to all sorts of things,I hope you find an end to your discomfort

I’m hoping some one will have a good answer for you, I get thrush every month a week before my period and this has been going on for years, I went to the doctors lot’s of times, they even tried giving me a low dose of the thrush tablet once a week for 3 months, and it still came back after that, I’ve had lots of swabs and in the end the doctor said it’s hormonal , so I’m left going through it every month ......... hopefully you get something to help you soon ,

live plain yoghurt on a tampon, always worked for me but it must be live.

I feel for you as thrush is horrendous, especially when it won't go away. I had it last September on and off for two months as various treatments didn't work. I saw a nurse and gp who both confirmed thrush and were baffled when treatment didn't work. I had an examination and swabs to confirm the diagnosis but various tabelts/cream/pessary didn't work. Eventually I took matters in my own hands and did some research. I stopped using scented soap and shower gel (used and still use Sanex Hypoallergenic showergel), switched to cotton underwear for the majority of the time (at 25 I was horrified at the idea of having to wear what i thought would be massive ugly pants but found some nice pairs on Victoria's Secret that are 100% cotton). Eliminated high sugar foods, only natural sugars. Increased my water intake and ate more natural yogurt. It took a while but after trialing all of this and no medical treatment it went away and has stayed away since! I am on the pill and get some thrush symptoms a day before my period starts but once it starts the symptoms are gone within 24 hours.I hope you find some relief soon. X

It's awful, it was the first time I'd ever had it and I never want it back. Keep persisting with your doctor and if you have to take more medication for it ask if there's something different they can give you as like any infection, some treatment works better than others. You will get rid of it eventually!

Hi, Have u been tested for B V aswell? Cranberry juice or cranberry tablets are good for prevention of thrush, also do u have a boyfriend/partner if u do you could be re infection on intercourse. Dont use perfumed shower gels, get one like femfresh to use all over. Drink lots of cranberry juice and stop tea and coffee for a while till it clears up. Definitely keep nagging your doctors.
