I’ve been on the pill for 8 months straight, take it everyday at 9pm, but I have started bleeding very heavily & it is causing me a lot of pain? I’m seeing a doctor about it, but it’s giving me a lot of trouble in trying to work out what it is? Any suggestions?

Could be some sort of cyst or maybe the birth control just isn’t working for you anymore?

I’m glad you’re seeing a doctor though and hope you get some easy answers 💙

I’m not sure of your age but heavy bleeding is common in Peri menopause. I had very very heavy bleeding in the first 3 years of peri menopause. So much do I developed anaemia at one point. I was put on progesterone only pill which eased them a bit but were still very heavy and long lasting. If your not of that age I do know fibroids can cause heavy bleeding, I was checked for them at one point.

Good that you are seeing your dr as there are other causes that I can’t remember at this point (brain fog)

Are you able to phone the doctor’s office who prescribed it? They will be able to give you great advice. Hope it gets better soon!
