Hi

Some advice needed on behalf of my mum please. She recently had surgery for cataract on her right eye, and her eyes are still blurry and red is this normal? Also is she allowed to wipe the eye with cotton wool.

Thanks in advance x

It would be best to contact the surgeon so they can check everything is ok, it does take a while for vision to settle that's why they say leave it a few weeks before seeing optician. My vision isn't great after surgery, now need 3 pairs of specs instead of 2 and the sunlight causes major problems.

Hi

Thank you so much, great advice. Yea she’s due for a follow up in 3 weeks time so hopefully by then she will find improvement.

Thanks and stay safe and well x

You should have a post operation sheet with a contact number. My husband had a reaction to the preservative in the eye drops, the single use vials were OK.
