Is this Perimenopause?

Hi. I am 45 and for the past 18 months have been experiencing headaches which last for 3 or 4 days. The headaches usually happen in the second half of my monthly cycle. I did speak to my doctor who said it was nothing to worry about and just take strong ibuprofen which I have tried and they do nothing.

For the past 6 months in addition to the headaches I have been waking in the middle of the night and I also seem to be sweating more. For the past 2 months I have had a period every 2 weeks and I feel constantly tired with brain fog. I do have thyroid issues but I am medicated for this.

I suspect this is perimenopause and I have an appointment with the doctor again this week but not sure what to ask or if there are tests that should be run. I don't want the doctor to say its fine as its not it is really impacting on my day to day life.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

The doctors can test your FSH level (Follicle-stimulating hormone), which will tell him where your hormones are at. Also, Advil has never worked for me for headaches..I take Tylenol (2 tablets) for headaches. Sounds like you are going through the ol' "pause." Sorry....I HATED that so bad!!!!!!!
