Endometrial ablation

I'm due to have an Endometrial ablation next week. Wanted it done under a local anesthetic but they said it's under a general. To say I'm terrified is an understatement. Just wondering if anyone has had this done and what recovery time was after it. I'm more scared of the anesthetic than anything else if I'm honest 😔

🙂 Type endometrial ablation in the search box ( top of this page, to the right) there are links to previous discussions on other groups. I’m not fond of general anaesthetics myself, but hopefully this procedure will be a great benefit to you 🙂

🙂 I’d never heard of this, so thank you for posting. It could be of interest to several other people who find heavy periods very challenging. I would like to post info on this at some point.

The anaesthetist is on top of your head constantly monitoring you at all times. It’s very safe though I understand some people feel they’re never going to wake up but that’s not the case it’s just a feeling so don’t worry if you can help it.

Sorry for the intrusion in the women’s section. I don’t know what I’m doing here either.

Tried to unsubscribe without any luck.

Having this procedure some years ago was one of the best things I have done. It's a relatively short time that you are under anesthetic and don't worry they look after you very well! Recovery from the whole thing was uneventful and quick , if I recall they advised a couple of weeks of taking things a bit easy. Wishing you the very best of luck!
