Please help!

I have always had very heavy bad periods and I have suffered with extreme pms. I’ve had bad periods since the age of a 11🙅🏽‍♀️

Last year I was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome but then my cysts had ruptured and I was pretty much in and out of hospital last may.

Since then I have found the pains to be getting a lot worse just before my period for eg( tightness is my pelvic area, horrific stomach pains and just no appetite) I know these are symptoms but these have seemed to have got worse over the year.

I have been back to my doctor and gynaecologist and all they prescribed me Tranexamic acid which this never helped it made me worse 🤮.

Also on noriday the pill. If someone has advise or anything I would be very appreciative

Thank you

I take transexamic acid for horrid periods and bleeding in between possibly due to perimenopause and a fibroid. TA helps but when I was on a similar pill like the noriday I bled almost every day for 3 months. Perhaps check if it's not the pill that's causing some of the symptoms

I’ve tried everything nothing seems to work🤮. I don’t really get a break from my periods as I bleed for like two or three weeks 🙁

It is horrible, I know how you feel. I was ok ish for 2 months after they put me on norithesterone (progesterone) for part of the cycle but this past month I bled most days, including 2 horrid long bleeds with huge clots which lasted a few hours and I ended up in a&e on Fri. Awaiting urgent appointment with my specialist and going to talk about a hysterectomy as I can't function like this x

Oh bless you!🙁🙁I hope everything gets sorted for you.

The clots are the worst thing going I had a clot the other month and it was awful I must of been in bed for about a day🤮x

How old are you if you don't mind me asking? I am 46, was fit and healthy, now a mess, stopped exercising, can't even go to work or even leave the house

I’m 26. I work full time but I’m finding it more and more difficult to go to work with the pains I get 🙅🏽‍♀️🤮x

It's horrible, isn't it. I don't get any pain but the bleeding can be completely random and sometimes very heavy. I am a teacher which makes it worse as I can't just leave the room..

Hope you get sorted soon. What are the doctors suggesting?

Doctors are suggesting the Mirena coil for me which I’m hoping to have fitted soon . But working in a nursery the bleeding is just awful when it comes on☹️.xx

Let me know how you get on with it. I decided not to have it as I bled on the pill the whole time. I am older and don't want any more babies (son is 18) so just want it all gone now.

Hi. Sorry to hear about what you are going through. I was prescribed transexamic and mefanamic acid for a number of years to control heavy periods. I had fibroids. I stopped taking transexamic when a recent GP warned that there was a risk of blood clots but do talk to your GP first about this as each case and individual is different. After many years of suffering and being ignorant about fibroids the one thing I have learned is back up advice from your GP with your own research. I did not initially realise hormone imbalance is linked to fibroid growth and I decided to make some changes to my diet and lifestyle which were not necessarily a cure, but helped improve my quality of life.
