Private Gynaecology

Hello

Has anyone been to a private Gynaecology clinic ? If so is it worth it ? I cannot seem to get referred on NHS unless I go to A&E and I don't want that .

How do you make your doctor refer you ?

Ask your GP to write to the gynaecologist you want to see (or an open letter if you haven’t decided who to see yet). If you telephone the gynaecologist’s secretary they will tell you the cost of the consultation.

I have . I wish the doctors would send me on NHS though !

Would it be wired to see a male doctor ? I will have to wait until Jan so wondering if NHS might be better . What does the gynaecology do different to doctors ? What is an appointment with gynaecology normally like?

GPs are not specialists gynaecologists are. If you have a gynaecological problem they are obviously the people to see. If you are uncomfortable seeing a man ask for a female, I’m sure you wouldn’t be the first. Good luck.

To go private there is only a man and a lady at weekend but is not any good for me weekend . So maybe I just have to see a man !!

I am seeing Dr tomorrow just as I have to but will asked to be referred .

I found that seeing a man gynaecologist is most time even better as they are trying to be very delicate

Ooooh no not my experience, lady gynae's are much better as they understand how everything feels especially when you are trying to explain pain or sensations, a man no matter how good will know what period pain actually feels like !

Hello Bantam and Jessy

I saw the doctor today she said I looked sore . Give me some tablets for trush and said she will phone but if I does get better refer . Dr`s cannot refer if they think its trush . I cannot see how you would have trush all the time? She was very understanding . So lets hope this gets sorted .

How long do swab results take to come back?

I have taken an cancelation next week but they wouldn't keep my other appointment just in case my period starts . If my period starts has anyone ever been to an appointment with there period? Lets hope period doesn't start . I expect the more I think it will it will not !!

Hello All

Today I finally went to my appointment . The examination was the worst ever the pain was bad even relaxed . I had a female member of staff .

The staff and nurses were lovely

I have heavy bleeding and pain is this normal or should I see GP ?

The pain is the worst and bleeding I have ever had !!
