Unexplained cramping just like period pain

I had a subtotal hysterectomy in 2003 (i.e. retained cervix and ovaries as they were fine) and have been post menopausal for some 7 years.

For the past week I have had very strong cramping sensations in my lower abdomen, just like period pain, but of course it can't be.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I am getting really stressed about it.
