Hi Lenton I’m glad you found us on health unlocked! I’m sorry to hear your friend has been trying to conceive for so long without getting the results she wishes for. Endometriosis is a horrible disease which affects much more than just your reproductive organs which is probably why she is suffering symptoms like the nausea and vomiting. Has your friend had any surgery to help manage the endometriosis and adhesions? some woman find that the sperm and egg cannot meet because the adhesions and endometriosis is stopping the egg reaching the womb to be fertilised. during my last surgery my Fallopian tubes were flushed and while I haven’t conceived (not trying at the moment) I have been taking ovulation tests each month and they have been positive every month since January! Whereas before surgery they were negative each month. So I’m on my 4th positive ovulation test and 4 months post surgery!!

I was warned that this does not always work and sometimes things are just too bad to conceive naturally or to carry a pregnancy with the help of IVF.

The best thing for your friend to do is to find a endometriosis specialist in your area if not already under one and speak through these things with him/her.

I really do hope that she gets the results she wishes for and she is more than welcome to pop a post on here for some support or alternatively join the woman with endometriosis group on Facebook where she can receive lots of help and support from many woman who are going through the same thing.

Take care, shan x

There’s a lot of herbal treatments to help manage symptoms of endometriosis but unfortunately they will not treat endometriosis. She can try things like evening primrose capsules to help with PMS type symptoms, CBD oil for pain, peppermint oil for nausea, peppermint oil on the skin to help with pain, lavender for relaxation. Personally though these things only help with my symptoms slightly and I need pharmaceuticals to help me further. Some people get relief from acupuncture which is something I have not tried myself. I hope this helps your friend and that her suffering lessens.

So sorry to hear about your friend :( there is no cure for endometriosis, but, there are ways of dealing with the symptoms. A good surgeon could perhaps remove most of the endo. But with deep infiltration it’s difficult. I recommend a endo specialist for this. She may find once she has been operated on that she may be able to conceive after this. But unfortunately this disease is so awful and conceiving is very difficult and impossible for some :( I managed to conceive but I was on birth control trial for a lot of years and we conceived a few months after I stopped in the first month after I had my true period in fact. I changed my whole life style and diet. But I was so lucky. I now have frozen pelvis and stage 4 endo :( I hope you are able to get some help for your friend. I’m sorry we don’t have better news :(
