Advice on how to keep focus on Weight Training!

Greetings...I am new here! My name is Audra- I'm 5'5 and 114 lbs. I've been a cardio junkie my whole life and I have a huge issue trying to shift to Weight Training. Being that I am now 50- my physical future depends on figuring out how to love Weights/Body Building. I have tried in the past, many times, the same thing happens, I lose focus, without immediate results like you get when you run 13.1 miles, or climb a mountain and gain 5,000 elevation- I just feel like nothing is happening and I don't want to "wait" years for results. I'd rather go run around the lake, heart pounding, sweat rolling down my face, legs burning- I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! As I age, I know what building muscle is vital to my health....... I don't have the same muscle tone after just turning 50 that I had just one year ago!!!!!!! waaaaahhhhh!

Please, somebody e p me....throw your advice at me- I'm begging! How do I mentally shift focus? Build Muscle- Keep Building????

I don't want to look like a steroid junkie at all or have a masculine physique...That is not my goal. I think Sarah Conner ( Linda Hamilton) was the bomb.com.- I'd love to be able to look a fraction of that. I have the same body build and in my best running condition-I have the sort of "cut" look, but I cannot keep running the way I used to- I have to change my body with weights- not cardio. Praying- anyone- help--- please------ thanks in advance.

I think you just need to start very slow. If I were you I think I'd lift weights 2-3x a week for 15-20 minutes each time. I would do one day of squats and seated rows and another day of dumbbell bench press and deadlifts. That's it. Alternate the two days. Stick to super-sets. Just get in and get out.

How about some accountability, will that help? Why don't you write another post this time next week to tell us how it's gone?
