Hi and welcome, Lovelifelive :)

If you join our Daily Diary, you'll see that we support all ways of eating for health and weight loss and have many vegetarian and vegan members. On a Tuesday, Greendream123 hosts a daily chat which is all about edible plants.

All of the information you need about the forum can be found in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/weight-l... and we hope you'll be joining all the Events, Challenges and Clubs that we run, especially a weigh-in and the daily diary.

If you haven't already taken it, here's a tour of the forum healthunlocked.com/?tour=true

We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.

Wishing you all the best :)

Hi If you find Vegan foods for Life on here there are some ideas there!

I am vegan but was vegetarian 30 plus yrs. I get a veg and fruit bag each week local to me and cook most foods from scratch (always have) but now use a food app to keep track of everything. There are lots of tempting processed vegan foods so I try and keep these to a minimum. I do use tempeh, tofu and occasionally seitan. Good luck!

Hi there Lovelifelive, there are a few of us on here who follow a plant based diet and lots of stuff on the internet too ! If you check out the daily diaries, you can find people posting their menu for the day and there are quite a few plant based things on there.

That's interesting, are there particular benefits you are looking for? Health? Weight? Environmental?

A plant based diet can be extremely healthy, as long as you only have the super processed meat alternatives occasionally and stick mainly to less processed meals (vegetables, grains and so on). It's also important to ensure you're getting enough iron and protein (they're the 2 things I have to monitor). If going fully plant based/vegan, I'd recommend taking a vitimin supplement designed for vegans (Holland Barratt do some reasonably priced ones).

If you are currently a meat eater, you may wish to experiment with plant based foods to start with. Even replacing just one or two meaty meals a week with plant based meals could make a huge difference to your carbon footprint and potentially have health benefits too.

It would be lovely to see how you get on with plant based meals - please do take photos and share them in the Tuesday Daily Chat!
