Hi Lonely3190 and welcome to this amazing forum. I'm sorry to learn that you suffer from anxiety which prevents you from going out. I presume that you mean for exercise. It's possible to lose weight without too much exercise, I don't do much exercise only short walks with the dog and I'm still slowly but surely losing weight. Here's a link which may help you.

I suggest you spend some time clicking about to find your way around. It's easier if you have a lap-top as there are several threads. If you’re using another device I strongly suggest that you use the web page as opposed to the app at least until you know your way around.

Have a good read of the pinned post “Welcome Newbies” and follow every thread.

Here’s the link to the pinned posts, healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

Here’s the link for the “Tour” of the forum. If you haven’t already taken it.

I strongly suggest you read and contribute to the Daily Diary and participate in a Weekly Weigh in.

You will find there's loads of tips about better eating, from other members. Sharing your daily menu not only helps you stay committed, it can help other members too.

Good luck I hope to "see " you around.

Hi Lonely3190 I’m sorry to hear that you suffer with Anxiety. I struggle with anxiety as well and simple every day things can feel overwhelming. I do find that getting out for a walk really helps with my anxiety, sometimes I don’t feel like it because my anxiety is bad but once I get going I feel much better. Exercise is great for mental health.I wonder if you try just.a small walk at first, take it slowly then you can gradually build up your distance and confidence.

I also do fitness at home, so you could try a dvd. You can buy second hand dvds on eBay, Music Magpie etc or access fitness via you tube etc.

Please feel free to private message me if you want to have a chat about your anxiety or anything else.

I wish you all the best with your weight loss journey 😊

I was replying to Amber who is a member of the Wednesday weigh in team. They are the Wobble Warriors :) You could join them or another team, whichever day is best for you. Just follow the link that Tabby has given you for Pinned Posts: the weigh in of the day is always there, third on the list of posts :)

I can't find that group.

You won't find the Wednesday group as that is only open on Wednesdays.

You'll find the Friday weigh in - Feel good Friday - in Pinned Posts. Here's the link again healthunlocked.com/weight-l... You'll see the first post is Welcome Newbies, then Frequently Asked Questions, then Feel good Friday weigh in. Read the opening post and you then Reply to the host, Caroline62. DON'T click on Write or you'll be writing a new post

Great, you're off to a good start :) The more you join in, the more you'll get out of it :) If you have a chat with the others on the weigh in, you'll soon get to know people and feel part of the team :)

Have a look at the Daily Diary, next one down on Pinned Posts, after the weigh in. That's always busy, every day, and you can see what plans other people are following and maybe pinch some ideas 😊

There’s a lot of exercise videos etc online. I signed up for chair Pilates. All I need to do now is remember to use it. I’ve also joined Second Nature (bit pricey £10 weekly) & I’m only losing about a pound a week but have tons of energy & a +ve attitude. It’s low carb but the small group chats of people who all started the same day give lots of ideas & keep me going.

I am thinking of joining the gym for the classes.

I did that & it was good (Pilates & Aquacise). Then they shut the pool for refurbishment so I dropped out, then Covid.

Do you get a trial with them?

Philfran profile image
PhilfranVisitor in reply to Lonely3190

Yes. The initial sign up is for 3 months but you can cancel in the first 2 weeks. You don’t pay anything until the end of the first month, so you don’t have to worry about getting money back. I’m half way through & thinking I may continue but don’t know if the cost stays the same after 3 months.

It says I have to pay £10 today.

Weird. I signed up to start on March 1, they didn’t take any payment until April 1. Sorry, maybe it’s changed.

It must of, I have to pay £40 upfront.

I pay it and if I don't like the programme, I can cancel and get a refund.
