I thought it will be good for everyone to share their ways of spending their free time during this 2nd lockdown and pick ideas from each other.
I have been doing some volunteering in a farm cleaning hens houses and digging in an allotment, been cooking like if it was « master chef 👩🍳 » 😂and doing lots of countryside walks.
Also started doing some Arts & Crafts with « painting with numbers » or creating my own monster in crochet 🧶
And you, what have you been up to?? 😊

You sound as though you have turned this lock down into a fun time and have been busy. I bet it’s been fun on the farm and good exercise 😊
I was much more productive the first time around. I have however had a really good sort out of my cupboards and have managed to sell some ‘stuff’ which has been great 😊
I have continued with my knitting, having finished a blanket for grandson no3 I’m now half way through a jumper for him. I have also made the family Christmas cake and puddings.
I hope you get some good responses to your post that will inspire us all to try something new.
Today we have bright blue skies so Hubby and I are off for a forest walk with dog and camera 🐾🍁🍂🍄
Yes it’s quiet relaxing being out of the flat a couple of days a week. How was your forest walk ? 😊
That’s a really good idea to tidy a bit and sell actually what you don’t need 😊 I should had that on my list too!
Knitting 🧶 😍😍😍 oh that’s nice you should put pics and infos of your creation. I would love to learn knitting and creating little hat for premature baby, so you think it will be hard to do ?
Our walk was lovely thank you. I felt quite relaxed and refreshed after it 😊
I have never knitted a hat, but it’s on my list. There is one to do to go with the jumper aim doing. I bought enough wool, so may give it a goo. I don’t think it should be too hard 🤔
At the start of the first lockdown, I was wearing a groove in the towpath of my nearby canal. My walks have become less frequent now the weather is miserable and the days shorter so I do have to give myself a push to keep on the move.
I also started knitting, some things for little members of the family. I'm now knitting squares with different characters, numbers etc to turn into a throw. My current square is a fox: the last was an ice cream cone
And I've been bottling various things. I've just made a cranberry and apple chutney and am about to do clementines in brandy syrup. I've done a few gin infusions over the past year but I've drunk them all!! I will do another before Christmas, and give it away before I have chance to finish it.
I try to keep my mind sane with this second lockdown, and being in a farm
With chickens and doing allotments is so resting in a certain way.
I totally agree it gets harder and to motivate yourself with this weather but with a lot of layers and a good raincoat you can make it 😊 you will feel so much better afterwards.
Would love to learn knitting, please share or create a post about it, I imagine it’s the best time for me to learn. 😊
Cooking!! I love that too! I never try to make brandy syrup ! Must be lovely 😋
Keep some for yourself but the real
Pleasure sometimes is to bake/cook for others 😍
Hope you have an exciting weekend creating nice treats 😉
I love your pictures EllaS2020 ! Those chickens are so cute!
This 2nd lockdown has been so different from the first. We had blue sky’s and sunshine but this time the weather hasn’t been so good.
During the first week I was out walking as much as possible but then had to self isolate for 7 days prior to going into hospital for my cataract op. I spent the time tidying up the garden and getting it winter ready. However I’m free to get walking again now and I’ve just got back from a walk in the rain. Wonderful to be back outside again.
As I’m not able to do some of my normal crafts for a few weeks I have got my knitting needles back out and I will be making woollies for a couple of children in the family.
I’d love to see your paint by numbers. We bought ourselves one each to do over the winter too. 😀
Knitting is very relaxing once you get the hang of it. The best place to start is to look for videos on line. Choose something simple to start with. A scarf can be a good thing at this time of year. Get yourself some wool (not too dark so that you can see the stitches) and a pair of knitting needles and you’ll be fine. 😀
Love the look of the buns, and glad that I can’t pinch one lol. I have been crocheting now since the first lockdown, making Xmas decorations for the family and friends. Don’t know how to put pics on here so unable to show them. It does help with the *not snacking” on an evening whilst watching t.v.
If someone could let me know how to put the pics on would love to share, because everyone I have given them to has put a smile on their faces. I’ve got a few of the patterns from YouTube, some from Pininterest and some of them I have patterns I bought over 40 years ago.
I don’t have a laptop, only a mini iPad so maybe that why I can’t work out how to put the pics on or then again could simply be my age. Have to ask the grandkids how to do certain things on my phone, which I find hilarious as youngest is only just 7 and her favourite saying is “nan nan, you really need to get with it”. Will share today’s with you so apologies for the lengthy response. She has made a list for Santa and I had to ask what the heck a mal doll was. Apparently they are from Descendants, which I should have known. Didn’t tell her I don’t even know what Descendants were. Had to google to find out.!!!, oh the joys of getting old. Take care and keep safe
