Facebook memory

A facebook memory flashed up on my newsfeed and I was shocked to see the difference between then and now. It wasn't good! In 7 years I have gone from 60kg to 73kg, being only 5ft 3inches the weight doesn't have a lot to spread out over. I keep telling myself that its fine but do you know what, its not.

I don't like having my photo taken and if I have to I stand a certain way or hide behind someone.

I am an emotional eater sometimes and sometimes it's just through boredom. When I'm busy at work I only eat lunch which is reasonably healthy but sometimes my downfall is when I get home.

At the minute I am trying to muster the enthusiasm to meal plan for the rest of the week.

Any tips will be appreciated, thanks

I can relate to what has happened to you. Its actually very easy to put on this kind of weight over seven years. For me I snack, I snack on all of the bad things , sometimes I eat just to eat something. Keep a diary over a couple of weeks, how you are feeling, time what you eat and how it makes you feel after, I usually feel a failure and eat more. You can do it. Not try for too much to soon. Do the five to ten percent over six months to a year thing, and repeat . You can do it, you will have bad days and weeks but keep on!

Thank you for your advice, I really do appreciate it. I have a little notebook that I can use as a journal and I have managed to download a food diary app onto my laptop.

It is comforting (not really sure if that's the right word to use) to know that others have gone through the same thing.

Thanks again :)

I can relate I saw pic other day in FB memory I look like I aged 15 years in 7 I binged ate smoke all bad things that got me here after seeing it. I guess I should do what I did then. Just wanted to say I get it. You did it then you can take baby steps to it. As same fir me. Can I say s$$$!! Ugh

On the positive side, those photos will help with your motivation :)

It makes sense to me that your downfall is when you get home from work if you haven't eaten well earlier in the day. I'd suggest having a look at your overall eating plan, aiming to eat enough, including healthy fats that will keep you feeling sated, reducing carbohydrates that will keep you craving more. Planning will be key at this stage.

Why not make use of the Daily Diary to log your meal plans, get helpful feedback and pick up ideas? Here's today's healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

And I see you once dropped in to the Tuesday Trimmers weigh-in. Why not make it a regular commitment - remember, the success of the weigh-ins is down to support between members so do reply to, and encourage, others, as they will you. Here's today's healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

I’m new to this, but I’ve downloaded the Change4Life smart recipe app. It gives recipes for breakfast lunch dinner and a few puddings, it also suggests a full day eating plan and gives a shopping list for recipes you choose. You can do this, there’s an amazing community here all ready to help and encourage you. Have some satsumas to hand in the evening, while you’re peeling it’s taking your mind off food that might not be as healthy as a satsuma. Good luck this week 👍
