Hi Bluelady-sing :) Firstly - well done on being a healthy BMI! My first thought would be if you are eating enough? Sounds bizarre but eating the right amount of calories and not restricting too much helps us lose weight. I use the NHS BMI calculator. You will need to add a bit more weight to your stats to make it give you a calorie range.

Also, what kind of food do you eat? In my experience what I eat makes a difference as to whether I put weight on or not more so than calorie amount.

I can identify with what you’re experiencing. My weight loss stuck for a whole year!!! So frustrating when you’re weighing everything and calorie counting! However since January 1st, I’ve lost 13 lbs. How? My husband has type 2 diabetes and we made the decision to cut back on carbohydrates due to the recent publicity regarding the blood sugar diet. We felt that 800 calories a day was unachievable for us, so all we have done is cutback on quantities of carbohydrates such as bread, pasta, rice and potatoes. I use pea pasta and make cauliflower ‘rice’ instead. We have Greek yogurt with fruit and seeds or sugar free muesli, or a small portion of porridge with fruit, or bacon and egg with mushrooms and tomatoes fried in olive oil spray for breakfast, soups or salads at lunch and a cooked meal with protein and lots of veg in the evening. We have at least 2 portions of fish (1 oily) a week, omlettes, chicken and the occasional steak. So long as we’re eating a healthy portion of protein and unsaturated fat, we haven’t felt tired or hungry after the first couple of days. My husband is thrilled to have lost almost 2 stones and he has come off some medication on medical advice due to his blood sugars having dropped to almost normal levels. Advice for diabetics used to be fill up on wholefood carbohydrates, now diabetes uk are advocating eating less carbohydrates. We still calorie count. Once you cut back, you struggle to achieve calorie targets. I also even eat a small amount (2 squares) of dark chocolate every day as a treat! It’s worth a try!
