Hi all, I've just joined.

My name is Matt. I am 27 years old.

I am just looking on hints and tips to loose weight and whats the best exersize.

I was 14 stone in April last year and went up to 17 stone round xmas!

I use to drink loads of beer and I've stopped now, started on the 1st Jan. I am now 16 stone 12. but I feel its stayed the same the last 5 days, I know its only been 12 days but I've stopped eating fatty foods. I drink lots of water, I dont eat much now whats going on?

Hi and welcome, MSoden :)

Whilst exercise is great for fitness and well-being, it's much less important than the correct diet for weight loss.

You don't want to decrease your intake of natural fats, as they're important for so many things, although fatty processed foods, like doughnuts and pies are best avoided. Have a look at this, for a more modern approach to weight loss phcuk.org/wp-content/upload...

If you eat too little, weight loss will also stall and this will explain further healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh..., so if you're going to be counting calories, make sure you get a personal allowance from the NHS BMI calculator.

Follow this link to our chat thread and a list of all the activities we run. We've found active participation to be key to success, especially with our weigh-ins.

I hope this helps. Perhaps you are not eating enough of the right foods. Celery is good for roughage. Try eating more vegetables, steamed not fried. I have found that If I do not eat so much meat, I lose weight. I avoid gluten too now and again. That helps me. Good luck, Jenny V
