How many pounds per month have you lost?

I'd like to know about how many pounds each one of you has successfully lost in one month's time. I mean doing it the right way-not starving yourself. I know everyone is different, but I'd like to figure out an average amount so I know what to shoot for.

One pound a week is a reasonable target. That makes it 4 pounds a month or 24 pounds in six.

One pound a week can be achieved by reduction of 500 calories per day in your diet. That is 500 x 7 = 3500 calories deficit = one pound loss.

You can use Myfitnesspal app for monitoring your calories. Its very useful.

Side by side do focus on healthy eating and upgrading your fitness levels because that should be the ultimate goal.

Enjoy what you do and love this journey. Any other queries, please feel free to ask.

All the best :)

Dt_RiyazKhan_Hyd has given you the answer - the first week though you can lose more but the aim is to do it slowly 1 or 2 lb max a week

Wishing you all the best on your journey :)

You also can use the NHS BMI calculator (web version ) to see how many calories you should eat based on your active level. Good luck!

I have only lost weight very slowly, 2-4lbs per month, but have also lost inches and gained muscle, strength and fitness. More to the point, I’ve maintained the loss for over a year.

Good luck in your journey!

hi, I have been going for 5 months and have lost 7 pounds. I'm slower than most and there's been 2 holidays and Christmas which have set me back a bit, but slowly, slowly, I'll get there in the end. Slow progress is better than no progress. Good luck

You gave the perfect attitude. Slow and steady is the way to go.👍

Great going! Your loss is your gain!! :)

Slow or fast is just relative. You are much much faster than millions of people who are not losing weight or who are gaining weight.

Every step matters, every gram matters. Keep walking, keep going.

You are the master of your ship! Keep sailing at the speed you love. :)

I feel like one or two pounds a week is healthy, it all depends on the person. I think more than that can be dangerous and easy to gain back

Initially I lost 4 kg in the first 2 weeks followed by a steady 0.6 kg per week.

Total loss is 23 kg and I started late May last year.

My maintenance intake sits around 1750 Calories per day.

I'm 46, not in menopause yet

Fairly inactive.

Hope this helps.
