Hi,

I have been in complete denial regarding my weight, just buying bigger clothes which looked ok and managed to carry it off.... However, the bigger clothes no longer look fine!! 😣 and it was a reality shock when I weighed in at the hospital at 15 1/2 stones! 🙈 😱 So decided onwards and upwards so feeling positive that we both can smash this! I am aiming to start with a 1lb a week! 😀 as anything off is a bonus! 👌

Nik Nak you are just a light weight I am 17stone(don't ask me how) and at just 5ft 3ins its really got to go, I want to get down to 11stone still a bit heavy but worried a little about the loose skin issue, however not everyone has loose skin when I had my babies I had very few stretch marks so might be lucky,I know what you mean about denial you kind of know you are getting bigger but somehow you put it to the back of your mind until that is you want to look nice for a special event then it all comes home with a vengeance, The time is perfect for you and I to keep each other on track as long as I lose consistently 1lb a week is fine (more would be better) so stay strong and we can do this together xx

I'm not thinking about what I'm doing as a diet - I'm making healthy lifestyle choices. I'm not putting all this effort into improving my health and wellbeing only to go back to old habits when I reach my target - I'm intending to stick with a healthier life. I still have a long way to go to reach a healthy BMI but I'm already enjoying a reduction in my pain levels and an increase in energy and confidence. Some days it's really hard to resist the temptation of eating something unhealthy, but I keep a picture in my mind of the new me I'm striving for and I keep going. I never thought of myself as someone with much willpower but I've really surprised myself this past 5 months and this forum has really helped.

You can do it too! 😀👍
