Tiggerr’s Tips - No. 1

When compared to others here, in essence I’m a newbie. I haven’t been here for 10 months, yet at the same time I feel like I’ve been here for much longer. In this short space of time I’ve experienced my own ups and downs (still am), which have enabled me to at least have a few thoughts on how get optimal use of this forum.

If you’ve just joined, then it’s worth being aware that everyone here just wants everyone else to do well and be the best they can be. With that in mind, I’ve got a few thoughts rattling around in my head that some may find helpful. I thought I’d share them, as and when my goldfish memory recollects them but do feel free to add your own and there's a good chance they'll end up in the next 'tiggerr's tips'.

So, you’ve just joined…

•You’re feeling motivated. If not then you soon will be :)

•The admins have pointed you towards this month’s Newbie post and it’s overflowing with helpful information, other eager ‘life changers’ and potential new friends

•You read through all the information… What a great start!!

My tip?

Add healthunlocked.com as one of the pages that opens when you open your internet explorer. If you’re not sure how then do ask.

Phone users can save the page as a direct link (thank you Hidden )

Why?

Because out of sight/site is out of mind and that is NOT a good thing. This forum and the helpful people who comprise it are likely to be the difference you’ve been looking for all this time. Staying in regular contact cannot be over emphasised.

I will second every word, Tiggerr as well as endorsing IndigoBlue61 addition as well. It never fails me how ,when you join in, members become virtual friends though we may never meet in person at any time.👏👏

Me too Tiggerr. I joined in June 2016 but didn’t stay around long enough. If only I’d got more involved then, then I might have reached my goal by now. I rejoined in June this year and the support I got and am still getting, has really caused me to change my mindset and now I KNOW I can do this.

You’re so right, being active and responding to others in the same boat is vital for success. It makes you feel you are not alone and there’s always a friendly listening ear to share your ups and downs whatever the time of day or night.

I know I can tell my virtual friends anything and they won’t judge me.

I’m sure there must be a lot of people on the periphery of the site who haven’t yet fully committed. It’s fine to read posts but I would urge them to “Come Out” and get involved. It’s just like belonging to one big virtual family.

The site is much easier to navigate than when I first started due to all the work the fabulous Admin have put in, especially the Newbie thread which guides you through.

So I say ‘come out, come out, whoever you are’

Good lucky

Oh you lucky thing! Have a wonderful time. ☘️

I agree with everything you have said Tiggerr . This is a fabulous community and I wouldn't be on my successful journey to a healthy new me if I didn't join in the chats and discussions. I have had more help, advice, tips and laughs🤣🤣 on here than I have ever had in my previous 30+ years of failed dieting. This forum is brilliant. Thank you one and all.👏👏😊

Great tips Tiggerr. Can I add a tip for phone users - save the healthunlocked.com web page as a quick link on your phone. I have it as a saved tab in my internet explorer app. The Chrome app can also be used to save pages on your phone. I haven't tried the healthunlocked app, which seems to still be in development regarding some of the features, but I can confirm that just using the webpage viewed via a mobile doesn't prevent you from participating in anything on here, I do everything from my phone :)

Well.....there is nothing I can add to all these heart-felt comments because I agree with them all :) (To be honest I don't quite follow the piece about the 'phone apps but, hey. if others do then good for them).

I am sitting here like a grinning Cheshire cat thinking of all the amazing help that people have gained through being in the forum, delicious food recipes, tips of all sorts and not to mention the even more amazing weight loss and general health improvement.

I think my friends think I have gone a bit more 'doulally' when I talk about the forum etc. but I am so proud to be a part of it and getting to know you all virtually :)

Thank you so very much :)
