So I'm not going to lie, this weekend is going to be an outright dieting disaster!!! It is the annual Folk Festival in Sark, the first I've ever been to and also the last one they may do. So I'm taking a laid back not feeling guilty approach, I'm going to eat the food (fresh lobster & crab, and all local catch and meat and veg) I'm going to drink the local beer and Monday I will be back! As much as I am dedicated to loosing weight I am not going to miss wonderful events. Hopefully my body will forgive me!!!

Have a great weekend you wonderful people!

Till Monday...Over and out everybody!

Hi April1994Rose

We all give our selves days to indulge like holidays and birthdays so there's nothing wrong with you wanting to enjoy the festival, then back on plan on Monday.

Have a great time at the festival.

Sounds fun, have a stellar time!

You'll just have to make sure you do plenty of dancing to keep things on an even keel. :)

Well the other positive thing (apart from this sounds like such good fun!) is that fish is both healthy and low calorie! Mmm... lobster! I'm jealous!

My favorite seafood is crabs legs. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find them over here. Kind of odd for a country that is basically a large island! :O

Well I remember learning in school that you are never more than 70 miles from the nearest seaside in the UK, so that doesn't sound like far, I agree. But unfortunately if you're more than about 10 miles from the coast, it gets more and more expensive to buy, so I suppose fishmongers are reluctant to buy wholesale if it's difficult to sell on retail.

But restaurants often offer it when it's in season. June is lobster month at a favourite pub near us. However when we went on Sunday, we were unlucky, it was already sold out. Apparently stocks are very low, and they may not be able to offer a lobster month next year, we were told. Maybe it's true for crabs too. Perhaps they are being overfished?

It could be. Or maybe the type of crabs I'm used to eating aren't available around here? When we take the Brownies crabbing at the seafront they only have tiny ones in the river. I've seen fishmongers that carry crab meat, but it's just all the meat in a container. No legs!

It is kind of funny that it seems easier (and cheaper!) to get seafood in Salt Lake than here (on the South Coast) as SLC is at least 1000 miles from the nearest ocean! :)

Festivals and holidays are a time of fun and happiness. I think there's nothing wrong with letting yourself relax. You should not feeling guilty for eating delicious food, even if you are dedicated to loosing weight. I can understand you because last year I was the person that was blame yourself for eating small piece of chocolate. But then I was at one birthday party where was the exceptionally delicious food. The party was huge, with good music, lighting effects and a stage. I remember that my friends hired stage, sound and lighting packages from here ontourevents.co.uk/stage-hire. At this party I wanted to eat every single piece of food that was there and I did it. That allowed my to realise that when we allow ourselves to eat what we want then we starting to eat only what we want and need.
