NHS '10-minute' workout

Has anyone tried these workouts? Here's an example of one: nhs.uk/Livewell/fitness/Pag...

I think I might be doing these wrong because it usually takes me more than 10 mins and I end up sore for the next two days.

Question - what does "perform 2 sets of 15 to 24 repetitions (reps) " mean?

It means do the exercise 15 to 24 times, have a small break and then do it 15 to 24 times again.

Hope that helps

Ooh they look good exercises.

To answer your question, for squats you would do between 15 and 24, I guess you would start at 15, take a small rest, say a minute, then do another 15 squats.

Hope that makes sense,

I will have to look into it be a good way to get a quick workout in when low on time. I read that as 15-24 reps p[er set so for lunges, to start i would stick with 15 reps and build up to 24 reps, so do 15 lunges take a 30 sec break then do another 15, this will give you 2 sets. as you feel fitter build up the amount of lunges you do til you can do 2 sets of 24 lunges. Hope that makes sense, let us know how you get on with it

Thanks. I have been doing the lowest recommended number.

Only recently started exercise, just had a quick look at these and they look doable even though it will probably take me longer than 10 minutes, just getting down onto the floor and up again is effort! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for all your responses.

Today I was trying this one: nhs.uk/Livewell/fitness/Pag...

How on earth are you supposed to do all of these in "10-minutes" ?!

Are you supposed to choose which ones you want to do. I know that's the case for the first push-up one but what about the rest? I think the NHS team might have made a mistake to call this particular one (link above) '10-minutes'.

Thanks again for your time folks! :-)

When I did this exercise yesterday it took me around 40 mins (including the warm-up and stretched). My arms were so sore I couldn't raise them to shampoo my hair!

These experiences put me off exercising.

I'm still sore the next day!
