Is it really possible to lose 7 stone by only following 1400 cal per day diet chart? Anybody lose that amount? How long it takes?

I have stuck to the calorie allowance given on the NHS bmi calculator (check and adjust as you lose) and have lost 3 and a half stone so far in around 5 months. Still need to lose at least another 4 stone but its working for me.

Its totally possible! I eat 1400cals a day and have lost 3 and half stone in 19 weeks still have about 5 st to go, but finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel :-)

Hi Ripa, it is possible to lose the weight that way, however with that amount of weight, exercise would help an awful lot to tighten up loose skin. 2lbs a week is the most you should aim to lose safety, although at the beginning you often lose a bit more. If you could maintain a steady 2lb a week loss it would take roughly a year to lose 7 stone. I need to lose a similar amount, it seems impossible at times, but remember any loss is better than a gain and any gain can be lost! Yes- have lost around 8 stone in about 15 months following approx 1400 cals. Still have about 1 and a half stones to go and is hard going now as motivation waning. Not putting weight in but not losing either. Started 5 2 diet this week hoping it will kick start weight loss again.
