Thanks that's really useful to know.

So far I've lost nearly a stone and I'm trying to get more exercise into my day. I'm semi active in the day as I work in a school so I spend a lot of the day on my feet or moving around.

Tonight I'm going swimming again with my husband (trying to go at least once a week) but I want something else I can do ideally at home and or for free as I don't really want to go jogging after work while it's still getting dark so early and I'm on a tight budget.

I'm fat all over but I'm really keen to get rid of my belly.

hey well done that's a great weight loss" think it would be beneficial if you did some body weight exercising ie body squats burpees star jumps sit ups press ups keep up the swimming see if there's a class you can do in the pool as for your belly fat this will drop off when you start to get your body fat down hope this helps.

Hi, Fatboyslim99. I've recently had emergency major abdominal surgery - I'm currently 15days post-op. I've been instructed NOT to eat anything that contains wheat, gluten, dairy, soya, red meat or fizzy drinks for the rest of my life. I also need to lose 28lbs, mostly hanging around my waist, hips, bottom and thigh areas. Can you help me with advice on exercises I can do from home during my recovery and healthy eating that will give me the energy to do the exercises please? Gratefully appreciated. :)

hi 28lbs we need to break this down into small goals which you can reach with confidence" you need to start to build your strength up slowly try using your own body weight to start try going for a fast pace walk build this up try at least 3-4 days a week this will get your heart rate up then try doing some press ups star jumps build up slowly "healthy foods brown rice" fish" chicken turkey fresh vegetables drink plenty of water thought out the day to keep you hydrated hope this help fordie.

Hi Fatboyslim99,

I have been yo-yoing for a few years. When I met my husband I was 7 and a half stone. Now I go between 9 and a half and 12. I cant seem to keep it off. I just slip into bad habits. I am finding it harder than ever this time around. I have starts C25K for the second time. A year and a half ago I was running 8 miles! Injured my knee. Once I got the strength back I had an unrelated operation and lost motivation. I was going to start fresh in November but irritated the ligament in my ankle so I could barely walk. Now I'm on week 3 but I still have no motivation. My husband says he doesn't notice the weight gain but none of my clothes fit and I refuse to by any more bigger sizes so i'm wearing leggings and tracksuit bottoms. Not sexy!!! I need to get my mojo back and keep it!!!!!

Thanks. I think the change of diet is getting to me too. I found out in November I need to avoid dairy. I'm missing a lot of things I love. I'm out with the dog now at least 3 times a week with C25k and usually walk in between too. I have a gym membership which I will be back using again this weekend. I have also printed off the NHS diet plan today. Looking to start on Monday once I've read through the info and have done my shopping! I really appreciate you taking time to reply.
