Hi.I was 18.5 stone when i started. Now I am 17.5. (after 3 weeks). I wish you all the best. My advice for you is FOCUS, eliminate simple sugars (sugar, white flour, white rice) Avoid diet food as it is full of it and ENJOY your food. Don't do die-t. Do live-t! Condition your brain to take more pleasure from being healthy and energetic than from food. Measure your successess and do not sacrifice your friends and family for die-t! Go out just reduce simple sugars which produce big waves of insulin in your body and make you feel hungry and crave. The same is with activity. Find something you ENJOY! Some people say "No pain no game!" This is stupid rule because our brain seeks for pleasure. You will succeed if you enjoy your new life style because this is only one way to stick to it for long time. Good luck for both of us!

I am sure that there will be lots of larger people that have done it, and even if you are the biggest there it shows that you are serious about losing weight, I once went with my sister where she lives, there was a lady there that was slimmer than me and my sister we were both around 15 stone, apparently she had been going regularly and had lost 8 stone, she had started at over 20 stone, she was an inspiration to everyone there, nobody said anything demoralising to her. I think it's more about being brave enough to go the first time xxx good luck xx

I go to water aerobics (also called aqua-aerobics or water-fit) at my local LA Fitness, 3 x week. There are women there who would make two of me, and once you're in the water no one sees you and no one bothers anyway. Apparently Wakefield Health Authority are paying for people to do this in the local authority pool - saw this on 'Bigger Body Squad' last week - which is said to be cost-effective if it helps with weight loss. If you put a bit of energy into it you can use up approx 400 calories in an hour. It helps strengthen the muscles and supports the joints. Because the water is both supportive and provides resistance, I can spend an hour jumping about but couldn't do 5 minutes out of water.

Not what you're looking for?
