I can't seem to lose weight - I only have excess fat in my belly area
I am told it is due to medication
I love my vegetables and fruit .... but money prevents a totally healthy diet ....
Would a nutritionist help?

I can't help much in terms of how to loose the fat but in terms of veg (which I'm trying to eat more of on a tight budget too). I tend to buy store brand value veg or buy loose and only what I need if it's fresh. Also buying frozen or tinned is good. You could also try going in later in the evening when veg is on offer as they're trying to get rid so they can put new stock in. Usually it's good for a few more days so as long as you're planning on using it that day or the next it would be ok.
Hi, don't spend your money on a nutritionist!
I'm retired and on a very small budget too and find frozen vegetables a very good option. Fortunately my nearest supermarket is an Asda so I buy their Smart Price frozen vegetables, £1 for a kilo. I hardly buy any meat these days, only what is in the reduced section and find that I can get a lot of flavour in casseroles with just a small amount of meat and lots of root vegetables and I use lentils and chickpeas for added protein. I also make my own soups with whatever root vegetables are available (I love parsnips!), lentils and some curry powder: just toss everything in a pan with a stock cube or two, cook for about 20 minutes and then whizz everything up in my liquidiser - lasts me days.
I lost my weight (three stone in six months) on the 5:2 Diet where you only eat 500 calories on two non-consecutive days a week so that saved me lots of money too! I now just fast on one day a week. For the first time ever I've kept the weight off, and I now have a flat tummy and no rolls of fat around my waist!
Everything I do is free - I count calories using MyFitnessPal which is a free app, and I walk everywhere as I can't afford to run a car nowadays.
I also started the NHS Couch to 5K running programme a year ago when I was 63 and I hated running at school. I struggled to run for 60 seconds when I started, and nine weeks later I was running for 30 minutes! I still run three times a week and I haven't felt this fit since I was a teenager!
