I'm thinking of buying a skipping rope as an aid for exercise. Are there any health requirements I should take into consideration?

I'm wondering what body parts it'll put pressure on I guess.

I found the main pressure was on my chest....make sure you are wearing a decent sports bra. Also found that any trousers I wore kept falling down. lol :) Check out skipping on youtube, I found some pretty helpful videos about it on there.

I bought a skipping rope from Argos with slightly weighted handles. One important point is to make sure it is the correct length for you.

Your knees will take a lot of the brunt, so be careful :)

Also, skipping is really hard for the unco-ordinated amongst us! :P
