Not quite 30 but close enough

Managed 28.5 miles today in 9 hours. Coastal route but walking on pebbles was a mistake. Energy sapping and really slow. Still, I learn. I had hoped for 30 miles but not complaining as I escaped a little sore but no blisters.

Whatever distance you do, keep walking.

That's a lot of miles on any surface, well done!

Wow that is amazing! And good news the 'no blisters'! 😊

I have learnt to recognise when blisters are beginning to form. So I stop for foot repairs and fresh socks - Heaven. Of course, getting going again is difficult. Have to build up speed slowly until muscles free up.

That's an amazing achievement. Lovely picture, the weather looks perfect for a long walk. Great to have such a distance walker on here. When you go out for your long walks do you take provisions with you or pick up food and fluids along the way?

Take provisions with me. High protein foods. A Mars bar or two for sugar and crisps for salt content to prevent cramps. More importantly, plenty of fluids to prevent "Hitting the wall". A sudden loss of energy and grinding to a halt. I take a few other things such as a light rain coat, hat, blister remedies and spare socks and medications (Pain killers etc). Just take the essential items. If you pass shops, you can top up with a few items. Longest breaks I take is 10-15 mins.

All part of my training to achieve 65 miles London to Brighton via Guildford.

I have had a couple of open-heart surgeries and I am repaying a debt I owe to the NHS by walking for The BHF

Superb!

Holy smokes! Well done. I find snow, sand, pebbles, grass - any shifting terrain is much harder going and it seems to activate other muscles.

Your quite right. Walking across fields is not easy either.
