I need some advice from someone that was on this tablet for this long or longer please and what they went though once they ended the tablets? Also when they started the withdrawal bleed and how long it lasted for please?

I am abit worried and anxious about this as I've been on the pills for 1 year 6 months straight no breaks due to prolonged heavy periods!

Please if anyone all can reassure me in anyways it be appreciated as my dr is not very good with advice at all and I'm out of hope what to expect!

Thanks x

Hi, I was on it long term for the same reasons. I took it with no break for about a year or 2 (it was a really long time ago so not 100% sure!).

I remember the dr wanted me to stop but I was just about to go on holiday and I begged them to give me another months worth because I thought I’d get a bleed straight away. Turns out I didn’t need to worry - almost 2 years later I still hadn’t and went back to the dr who gave me a short course of the same pills which kick started my periods. I left it so long because I was happy to not be dealing with periods again but will say the dr told me off for leaving it so long when I did go back!

Wow seriously 2 years without a period when u came off them!! 😲 your lucky as that sound rare to get esp with norethisterone... it's been 5 hours without any norethisterone pills so far and I've not had any bleeding yet but cramps only .... I'm really scared as I just dont know how bad the bleeding is going to be as I've never taken them for this long esp 1 year 6 months straight no breaks!!! Can I ask when u did have the bleeding return what was it like to experience??? Cause I was on norethisterone back in 2019 for only 3 months and that withdrawal bleed only lasted 2+ weeks but this time it's been way to long term on them and I feel so nervous and very scared

Yeah I expected it to be within days!

My periods actually came back much better than before. I was prescribed it because I was bleeding for weeks at a time and taking it as intended with a break wasn’t helping. Pre Norethisterone I was bleeding more than I wasn’t overall and that reversed after but I imagine that was just a change in my pcos rather than because of the medication?

I’ve since taken it a few times to induce a bleed for IVF and each time have had a period/withdrawal bleed within 5 days so I think that’s more usual. Sending hugs, I know it’s scary. X

Well I've started my withdrawal bleed today like said before it always happens 2 days after ending the pills .... so makes me think 🤔 I'm not dreading it as much atm as it isn't heavy yet but getting use to wearing pads again is sorta doing my head in and making me irritable to get comfortable!!!! This is gna be so annoying 😤 to deal with

4 days I've been bleeding but it's not acting like the usual withdrawal bleed I get as it not massively heavy and I've not passed any uterus linings like I usually do! I'm confused to this

I'm just passing small blood clots 😑🙄 I've never experienced a withdrawal bleed like it

Ok.. better than big bleeds right? The lining is supposed to get thiner.. i guess it really happens when you take the progestin long enough. When i took a break it was a hell of clots, but is was after just a couple of months. Now im also taking it longer..

I was on it for 1 year 6 months came of them last Thursday the bleeding started Saturday afternoon 12 o'clock I'm now on day 4/5 and the bleeding is like in-between medium/ slightly light but the clots are pea size too tiny bit bigger but not massive and the urine lining hasn't come out unlike last time I passed big clots and lining 🤔 but this time it hasn't been as bad unlike in 2019 I was on norethisterone for 3 months and came of it it was a nightmare and lasted 24 days
