so I've been diagnosed with pcos about a year ago and was put on clairette tablets to help with the pain and regulation of periods but it's only been a hinder tbh.

am only 20 so not looking to have a child soon but I want to "preserve my eggs" as such to have the best chance possible when I do come to want children.

All i know is -

freezing eggs

metformin

anyone used these methods? do they work.

need some peace of mind I think😚

Hi, personal exsperiance your so young so now is the time to get on top of it .. you could regulate you cycle and deal with most of the symptoms with the right diet and research. Firstly I use pintrest type in pcos and read everything you can.. knowledge is power! Low carb low sugar dont be afraid of good fats and lots of proteins.. metformin is way to over prescribed to people who dont need it and it also lowers critical B vitamins not sure about the other one. Egg preserving shouldn't be an issue as pcos definition means our egg follicles dont mature meaning we have plenty of folicals to be used later it also means we potentially have a slower body clock.. but that depends what research you read and trust.. I think very few people actually know. Pcos in really easy speak messes your hormones up means we can have insulin resistance and to much testosteron I would look into supplements specifically for PCOS sufferes inositol being the main one. Had I of know at 20 what I now know at 33 and now desperately wanting a baby I may have already concived. The doctors I have been to see know nothing.. but this is all my personal research and exsperiance.. take a look for your self.

Look into It starts with an Egg by Rebecca Fett. Helpful book I recommend you all.

This isn't something you need to do, our egg quality remains better for longer so we can conceive later in life. Not all pcos ladies have issues conceiving, some need a little help, some more. The best tip is to stick to a low GI type diet and keep your bmi under 30 so that if you do need help in the future then you will get it easily (bmi has to be under 30 to qualify for fertility assistance)
