Pcos makes me feel like a failed women.

PCOS makes me feel like I have failed at being a person. One sole thing I wanted when I was a child was a family. I now have to pluck my chin every morning... Suffer with not losing weight when trying again feeling like I failed.. Anixtey and depression is crazy... Maybe even losing my job which would mean my home and car too.. I tried for two years with my ex partner and now my current partner have been trying for 6 months and I feel failed every month, he is very supportive but we could never afford to adopt. I find my family don't understand how I feel as all my siblings have children and my cousins. I'm always getting asked when are you having yours. The mood swings with unpredictable periods which are uncontrollable. (rant over)

Sorry to hear you feel so down, I felt the same when ttc with Pcos...things that helped me were

1. keeping a gratitude journal to keep things in perspective..writing down 3 things each night that we are lucky to have.

2. keeping busy with joining new exercise classes and groups with people of all ages and walks of life (my friends are all young professionals with babies!) again made me realise that that’s not the only way to live your life.

3. Looking at the best pcos diets and getting into cooking/baking healthily which is quite time consuming as you have to source weird ingredients like cacao nibs but kept me busy and felt like I was doing something!

You may also want to talk to your GP about how you’re feeling but I know mine didn’t offer any kind of counselling on the NHS unless I was going through IVF which I think is wrong really but guess it’s money...I did do acupuncture, didn’t enjoy the acupuncture really and it was very expensive but was nice to talk to an outsider about my problems/mood regularly- think I would try reflexology next time!

Hope this helps..remember you’re not alone in this, even though it may feel like it!

I know exactly how you feel I feel so resentful when I see pregnant women it actually changes my mood for the day

I'm on yazmin pill and doing slimming world and I'm losing a 1 pound on average a week I believe the yazmin is helping

As to mood swings I'm calm one minute then I melt down I'm very unpredictable

My friend is counsellor so I get free counselling as and when and it's such a blessing it might be worth u trying talking therapy its definitely helping me xx good luck chick xxx

There are not any near me either. I did speak with the nurse and she said slimming world isn't the best diet.,due to sugars. PCOS is affected by sugar and she suggested the no sugar diet. Thought I would share. I brought the book today. Xx

Hi,

I feel the same way. I feel being a woman I should be built to have a baby and if I can't do that then...

I also suffer from mental health. TTC has taken over my life, I no longer like to socialise and I'm struggling to work.

I also feel like no one understands how I feel and I have no one to speak to. I've only told my mum but she's pre-occupied with my sibling's baby on the way. I don't want to tell my siblings as they won't understand if my mum doesn't. All people seem to think is don't worry it'll happen as though they're mystic meg.

I'm also always asked when are we having kids, don't we want kids etc. which I'm fed up of.

I feel for you x

I know this post is 4 years old but I love how to the point you are! I feel the same way too!

My mother in law literally week in week out is like “have you both started trying yet” “when are you going to make me a grandmother” like that could be a lot of pressure for somebody anyway but for somebody with PCOS it’s a lot more harder with the pressure because you know that there’s a high risk of infertility issue ect.. (btw my mother in law knows I have PCOS

I 100% get it about the hair growth too! I have to pluck my chin , shave my moustache , I even have hair on my effing toes! And basically every other part of me too! I actually don’t think I have any clear space on my body where there’s no hair lol total night mare and because there like very light hairs I can’t even use my laser hair removal because the hairs are not dark enough!

My periods are starting to go funny now and the GP won’t really do anything because he’s a pig… but at least I’ve been able to vent so it’s fine , have a nice day all haha :) x
