Excess hair growth due to PCOS

Has anyone got any solutions for excess hair growth on the face due to PCOS?

Currently saving for laser hair removal and I pluck currently but I need to this every day to keep on top.

Due to eczema on my face I’m reluctant to use hair removal creams and vaniqua didn’t work for me 😫. My eczema also prevents me wearing double wear or thick foundations to help cover.

At the end of my tether with it. It’s dark and thick and in complete contrast to my pale skin and blonde hair. I find it extremely embarrassing

Vaniqua, unfortunately, only keepss hair growth from getting worse.

I used it ages ago, back when it was $60 a tube. Now I wish I kept up with it because my hair growth is much worse since, but can't afford the $280 a tube that it is now.

Get a wet and dry epilator and use it in the shower (less painful), they are designed for the face now (in my day they were not and actually almost made my face more noticeable due to the blotches) but at least it means you can have days off from plucking). Make sure you exfoliate regularly too to reduce the ingrowing hairs.

SK:N used to do a 30% discount for pcos ladies and interest free credit.

If you do go down the laser route you must stop plucking 6 weeks prior to your appointment to get the best results

I had it done about 10 years ago and I know they class it as cosmetic but the difference it made to how I felt about myself was amazing, wish I had done it years earlier, no 5 o clock shadow !! I had 22 sessions including maintenance (proper beard!) and you do need to maintain it but Ive not had anything done for about 3 years now and could do with a top up as the goaty ones are re-appearing.

The combined pill may help slow down the speed of growth too especially if you take 3 months on the trot which is what I do.

I’ll look into an epilator! And I’ll definitely look into SK:N too. I want to be able to pay for a fair few sessions straight away so I’m saving like a mad lady aha!

I’m on the implant at the moment but I’ve been given the pill to top the hormones up so hopefully they’ll kick in!

Implant is not good from a pcos point of view, I know lots of ladies felt their symptoms got worse on it

An epilator isn’t painless so take a painkiller on the first go 20 mins before- don’t start with your moustache!!!!
