My pelvic pain is becoming unbearable. Any suggestions on how to help?

Hi I've suffered with irregular periods for about 5 years now. However I experience pelvic pain everyday and it's heightened when I'm on my period. I've seen my GP about this and I was sent for an ultrasound scan but they just told me I had a deflating cyst and it was nothing to worry about.

Whilst, I experience extreme pelvic pain near enough everyday my GP has suggested taking pain killers such as paracetamol and ibuprofen but they don't even dull the pain, hot water bottles help for a small 5 minutes. But the pain is becoming unbearable.

Any suggestions into what I can do?

You need checking for endometriosis - pcos cysts (which are really follicles) do not cause pain generally (proper cysts do and can rupture which is really painful) but they would see an enlarged cyst on a scan.

Whereas endo can cause severe pain which sounds more like you, I would ask to be referred to an endocrinologist as it is their area along with pcos.

There is an endo forum on here so perhaps have a chat with the ladies on their to see what they think.

That is really scary! I think you should keep telling the doctors what is wrong until they do more tests to find out what's going on.

Hope you get well soon!

I've heard that acupuncture can really make a difference! Ive not tried it as I only experience mild pain. I get lower back pain. If u can't afford acupuncture try the top 5 yoga poses for pcos. I don't remember which ones...hope it helps
