Mild PCOS?!

Hi all. I had a scan today and the sonographer said I had mild PCOS but to wait 5 days to get my results! I am so worried. This came about because I hadnt had a period for 2 months. my dr organised the scan because I had an ectopic pregnancy last year and wanted to check everything. I have a 7 year old from a past relationship but my husband and I really want a child between us and I am scared that I cant have any children anymore

The general thought is that we are born with pcos so you would have had it with your first child so there is no reason why you wouldn't be able conceive. PCOS is not really ovary related and can come down the male and female line, they believe my husband is a carrier and my son will be to.

The scanner should not have said anything really as they are not qualified to do so, so I would wait and see. It could well be your partner that has the issue rather than you with pcos so ask for him to have a sperm check as quality sperm seems to be in decline so even if he has had a previous child, it may have changed.

I would get him on the Boots Vit C and zinc tablets as a precaution as my husbands improved over 100% in a year by taking them even tho his diet etc was good. Also look at the fertilityfriends website to see if you are ovulating as a period does not mean you are and you can ovulate without a period too, taking your temperature is the only accurate way for pcos ladies to tell.

Try not to worry too much, it is rare not to conceive due to pcos, stick to low GI type diet as that helps reduce the symptoms.

If you have had a child I am pretty sure that the chances of you having another one are great
