I finally got referred to gynaecologist to be assessed but as I went for my smear test last week, the nurse informed me my last blood test came back I wasn't immunised against Rubella and needed an MMR before fertility will even consider me. This left me a little upset as she then went on to say I can't get pregnant for 3 months whilst having the jabs as it can have devastating affects on the baby. She said it's very important I have protected sex for 3 months after the jab. Obviously this is a long time for someone who is trying. She said best thing to do is to call when I stay my next period(which was day 49) to book in for urgent MMR so I know I'm not pregnant. I woke up this morning to a heavy bleed which has never happened before. Today would be around day 56 so very late. I have very mixed feelings... so I call and get the jab or do I just keep trying to conceive naturally?
Thanks

Definitely get the jab - there is no reason why you should cancel your gynae appointment but just avoid getting pregnant as it honestly is not worth the risk.
Firstly, three months really isn't a long time when TTC although I know it seems it right now .
Secondly, of you struggle to conceive (which may be the case given your irregular cycles) then you might need the help of the fertility clinic so why delay the process?
I know I might be a little frank, but speaking from experience, do all you can to support your fertility xx
Thank you I need honesty as my view will always be blurred as is me is happening to. I am booked in for the jab tonight anyway I went ahead! So thank you for your help!
