PCOS????

Hi

Just looking for any advice or information regarding being diagnosed with pcos. At the moment I am 33 and been ttc for 10 months. I already have 1 child (9 years) Went to gp for unrelated issue and gp thinks I may have pcos. I am having a blood test next month (within one week of end of period) at some point and then maybe a scan. I'm not convinced but then maybe in denial lol

Any advice would be appreciated x

Hey, in all honesty I've not seen

Much info from doctors being given about PCOS! So if you do get any pearls of wisdom it would be appreciated.!!

The tests are fine, generally you need both a blood test and a scan. I was told by both the doctor and the ultrasound person you need both to give a full diagnosis. Why do they think you have PCOS? Do you have irregular cycles / problems with extra hair etc?

Good luck with it 🙂

Thanks well I'm not convinced really but came off pill oct 2016 and not been able to concieve periods are not totally irregular but not like clockwork either ?? To me it's the length of cycle which keeps changing?? Acne overweight. So I guess see what blood tests say first.

If I get a diagnosis then any info will respond but I don't think I have it x

Sounds like me! I have irregular periods. Not the worst they can be but still not great..ranges from 31-40! Which isn't too bad for PCOS but still rubbish really from a ttc point of view. Also the dreaded hairy lip..! Ha. My bloods and scan confirmed PCOS as I had cysts and some hormone that was too high (they never did tell me which one - guess they figured I didn't need to know!) from then on it was well you have it, sooo just carry on as normal..I'm ttc as well. It's frustrating but I hear there's a lot they can do for PCOS ladies. I'm just tying to see what happens at the mo before I go back for help / treatment.

Hope it all goes ok 😊x

Thanks for the info😀 She was talking about losing weight and medication to concieve ! I thought hang on a min not even been diagnosed yet! Guess at 33 time is running out so maybe they'd have me on medication to concieve straight away. How long have u been ttc- is that why they looked into pcos for you ?

I'm a little confused as I already have a son!?? Most friends that I know that have had trouble ttc hadn't previously had children x

Not originally. I came off the pill for a break as I'd be on it over 10 years since I'd been off the pill..so figured I'd stop as I wanted to see what my cycle was like. And we were wanting to try for kids in a year or so so thought it'd be better coming off it early. Was off it for a year but my periods were so erratic and never settled down. That's when I went docs and got diagnosed. So we moved the ttc timeline forward! 😊 not been trying too long. 6 months-ish. Got told I can go back at 10months for a referral. But I know that's still early days in regards to conceiving (I'm impatient tho so doesn't help to be told that! 😂)

Ah ok I guess I'm at ten months now so maybe that's why she was talking about medication.

My friend has pcos and has 2 children, pretty sure she took medication to concieve.

Well good luck. Most women without pcos can take a year so I guess would expect to take longer with pcos xx

Heya.

Don't always listen to the GP not all have our best interest at heart.

When I was 16 doctors told me I couldn't have children as I had PCOS. I am now 28

My daughter turned 10 years old yesterday and my son will be 9 in 2 months.

I only had my period twice a year.

But now I have it regularly although the GP says it's impossible due to the PCOS.

I read up on a lot of this like you must be.

I decided to just take what I needed and see if it worked.

Maca root and black seed oil.

I took it separately at first.

Blackseed sorts out all the things in your body and maca puts hormones in check.

When I take maca root my period came the evening on the second day. So I guess start the whole baby making just before that take it and then continue baby making for a few days or how ever long.

Don't forget to go and read up on the things I say first before you take it. With maca root there's some to help men and others for women. But black seed is universal. Black seedcan be taken throughout the year but maca root is for two to three months then none for three months ect.

Sorry to go on. If you need any links or more information let me know. Good luck.
