My doctors has told me if me and my partner want to start trying for a baby we both need to lose weight to help increase the chances of us getting pregnant but really struggling. I'm on a lot of medcation so it's really hard trying to lose this weight. Can anyone recommend what we could do :(

Hi Harley. I have PCOS and a condition (unknown to me at the time of my pregnancy) called APS - Hughes Syndrome. Before becoming pregnant I was a little overweight and like yourself I was taking a mix of meds. To get my body ready I swapped a few things around in my diet e.g. I had brown rice/bread/pasta etc and took the relevant vitamins my body needed plus folic acid. I cut down on my portion size, and if I felt like having another nibble I had carrot sticks, apple and other fruits and veggies. You can have treats, just not lots of the wrong things. Due to my ill health now and the fact I was putting on so much weight, around 5 months ago I joined Weight Watchers. In that time I have lost 2 stone and am feeling so much better for it. Maybe you could join on a short term basis and see if it helps!!! I hope you both find something that works. Just take things a step at a time and don't get stressed by it, as the stress alone can add to the problem. I was told I would never have kids, but I proved everyone wrong by getting pregnant in my first 3 weeks of trying! Good luck xxx
