More Gluten Free Bread

Well let's see if this tastes any better. It's a recipe I've used before and the main ingredient is Buckwheat seeds. I've now added sun dried tomatoes and mixed Italian Herbs.

I've just tasted it and its better than the original recipe with the addition of the sun dried tomatoes and herbs so I won't be throwing this one away.

Sounds delicious. I'd like some of that!😊

Thank you Ali 😀

Unfortunately Ali I don't particularly like it. I'm giving Spelt Sourdough a try as recommended by the IBS Network.

That’s a shame after all that effort. I made bread once and it was so squeaky when I ate it it put my teeth on edge it was like polystyrene 😂

Oh good luck with the sour dough I think you have to follow the recipe carefully. I hope it works out for you as that would be delicious 😋

Yes actually I could say the texture was a bit like polystyrene but even with added flavour I still don't like it.

I've made sourdough bread many times and of course it doesn't contain yeast, only the airborne good bacteria. I got the recipe from the IBS Network to which I'm a member. They say as it's an ancient grain people with a possible gluten sensitivity can tolerate it.

I'll post a photo when it's made, got to get a starter going first.😉

My sister is trying to make it as her first attempted batch was too dense so will be interested to see how you get on 🤞

in reply to Agoodenough

Of course, I'm going to start the starter shortly. Takes about 5 days before I can use it. I've got the Spelt flour ready and waiting😀

Copy that! 😀

Thank you Debs. Unfortunately I'm not keen on it even with herbs and sun dried tomatoes the Buckwheat overrides everything else. I'll definitely be trying the Spelt Sourdough that the IBS Network recommend.

Oh what a shame, I must admit I am not keen on Buckwheat, but spelt is another matter 😀

in reply to Kitten-whiskers

Well it's definitely going to be a Spelt loaf now, not Buckwheat. The recipe online gave it 5 stars, just goes to show we all have different tastebuds.🤔

Yes, maybe its a bit like marmite - you either love it or hate it

Its great there is such varity to cater for us all 😁

in reply to Kitten-whiskers

Yes very good, you are so right. I'm going to have to find someone to donate my Buckwheat to.

Oh yes, there's excellent choice out there now. I went to Tesco today and bought a Vegan Wenslydale style cheese with cranberries, can't wait to try it😋

Ohhh - i've had my eye on that, I would be interested in your thoughts on it 😀

in reply to Kitten-whiskers

Of course I will. We are getting more and more choice on the cheese front.😋😊

Looks very nice - please post the recipe thank you

My personal opinion is I'm not keen. It doesn't seem to matter what I put with the bread as the overriding texture and taste is Buckwheat seeds.

I will post the recipe though as you and others may like it
