Advice on flare ups while on Methetrixate.

I need advice on what to expect while on med's. I am on Methetrixate 25mg and pred 5mg. Had a couple of weeks of feeling great. I am now back to having temple and jaw pain, vision is blurring on and off and I have a rash on my torso. They have said I have vasculitis but not sure which type as all type of vessels involved. While on Meth should I be symptom free or should I expect flare ups? I'm inbetween specialist as I have recently moved.

I would ring your GP and asked to be referred to a specialist immedately. Perhaps someone could advise on good a consultant in your new area.

Cath, under the circumstances can't you phone your old specialist to ask for some advice? Maybe your GP can arrange something urgently.

Even on medication these things can happen. That's the reason why we have to have regular blood and urine tests and see the consultant on a regular basis.

Are you also on folic acid? It is usual to have folic acid whilst on methotrexate.

Yes I take it on a Friday, I have a meth Monday and a folic Friday! Lol that is how I remember to take them.
