Hi all,

Last year I signed up to the warm Home discount scheme, this helped me save some money off my electric bill, as I am claiming benefits... Last year the rebate was £120 this year it will be £130. My energy supplier is Edf.

To add a bit on savings, we recently had some work done to our house, central heating and an extension, and we saved quite a bit of money because the companies did not charge us VAT because of my husband's WG. The invoice was Zero rated (disability). We also saved the VAT on an adjustable bed.

We just signed a VAT exemption form with basically just showed his illness.

It certainly helped. If you need any more info, look at Customs & Revenue VAT site.

Thanks for these helpful hints. There's similar thread at bit.ly/QPz6aP
