How old is your son?

Hi Suzym2u,

My son has 12 years old and he

got sick in March of this year. He has taken and takes much cortisone and, after cyclophosphamide, he is now taking the MMF.

Unfortunately, due to the immunosuppressors, it had also problems with blood pressure and the heper zoester. Could the medecines (and specially cortisone) are the cause of high cholesterol? Or is due to the disease (systemic vasculitis that in his case involved only the kidneys and very little lungs)?

He started an anti-cholesterol diet.

Thank you for your reply and have a good day

Hi,

Prednisolone is well known to cause raised cholesterol unfortunately.

Hi Keyes,

tomorrow we'll see my son's doctor who is going to decrease the cortisone.

In the meantime I am making changes in my child's diet hoping to avoid him taking other medicines.

have a good day
