Stolen from Barnclown's post over on the Lupus group :)

This looks like an interesting line of research given that I think T Cells are involved in a few types of vasculitis :

I don't know much about campath / alemtuzumab, so I'll have to take a look on google :) But I have heard of a few folk being given it for Behcets, I understand that there's T cell involvement in giant cell vasculitis and I think it can be used for ANCA vasculitis too.

Mucho thanks for the post.

Pesky cd8 t cells - they just don't listen.

There are also studies regarding b cell proliferation in vasculitis. Some folks on the vasci foundation forum on Facebook are tested for cd19 & cd20 markers on b cells. Apparently those markers are a precursor to ANCA numbers rising.

I've requested such testing from my nephrologist but thus far, no such luck.

I'm a two-year MPAer.

I believe that Campath is being tried on other types of vasculitis eg:- CSS (EGPA) as part of Clinical trials at the moment.
