Have you contacted your consultant who treats you for your vasculitis Tom, in our experience vasculitis can cause bells palsy. The ear can also be affected by Vasculitis. Are you receiving any treatment for the shingles? It is possible that the WG is responsible for the numbness in your legs and feet. Where are you seen for your vasculitis?

whether there is a connection to flue jab I don't know.

Sorry to butt in but I read your post on possible link with Bell’s palsy and vasculitis. I have been ill for two years with symptoms that may possibly be vasculitis but my bloods were normal so rheumatologist gave me fibromyalgia diagnosis which does not fit my struggles , therefore gp just says everything is fibro but my poor health leads me to disagree. I just went to hospital a and e as face dropped again right eye all the way closed this time , before half but since March it drops then opens all the time and there they said recurring Bell’s palsy but with other problems I think it’s linked and could be a vasculitis but no way to know.

This is a strange one but twice now I have had periods of under my right buttock cheek a feeling of a balloon inflating then reaching a certain point it feels lt deflates. A long shot but has anyone else had similar

Hi Tom21, There are too many sufferers from this symptom (peripheral neuropathy) for it not to be included in the common ailments for Wegener's; but the doctors are in denial of it. At my last appointment, the consultant prescribed me LYRICA (pregabalin) for it, after some pressure from me that the pain, and the pins and needles, and numbness are real. It worked (sort of) but I had to stop using it because of the side effects..... extreme nausea. I usually take TRAMAOL to relieve the symptoms. Check the link below.

Do all your doctors who you see work together Tom ?

no they work in separate hospitals ,but for the same group.

the eye man works at WCH Whitehaven, the main renal dr works at Carlisle hosp. and sees me at cockermouth hosp. and the neurologist was at penrith hospital, the ,ear specialist works at Carlisle hospital but doesn't seem to be involved know that grommet has come out.

Yes, my lower legs were paralyzed and I had foot drop in both of my feet. I had no feelings on my feet and calves and right hand. I suffered unbelievable pain that nothing seemed to quell while hospitalized. I fell even using a walker because of the parathesis and lack of feeling. I felt like my feet were weights or had tight socks on them all the time, it was the weirdest feeling.

My husband massaged my feet and legs. I have feeling now, a lot of the nerves have grown back (very slowly). I have not taken any pharmaceutical drugs since 2007 for this however and feel healthy diet, supplements and a strong will and prayer helped. I no longer use a walker or wheelchair or even a cane. I can walk and I live quite normal now. But change wasn't easy. I went to a Naturopath and got the support that I really needed and wanted and, he cared...
