Does anyone else with Wegeners have fluid retention?

I've been having swelling under my right eye but I popped into chemist tonight and spoke to the pharmacist who sad that it was probably the steriods causing fluid retention!! Has ayone suffered from this? x

probably the best thing to do is get it checked. Any swellings around the eyes should be checked by your WG consultant as the consequences of eye involvement with WG can be serious. It is better to be on the safe side.

I recently had the same problem with both my eyes.swelling and a few days turned out to be an infection too .

Anti b ontiment worked well .

I too experience swelling under both eyes due to the involvement of my nose with WG ( saddle nose deformity )and sinus problems . I agree with John and Susan its best to get it checked out.

I went to my GP tonight and she didn't think it was fluid retention she is referring me to eye specialist. I also have sinus problems and saddle nose deformity due to WG but my swelling is just under my right eye x

I would get this checked I had it In my nose with which caused saddle nose but also my sinuses got so inflamed the skin in the corner of my eye produced a hole which opened up and caused me to catch mrsa whilst undergoing treatment. For WG I suffered with great pain my eye dropped and stuck in one position I reluctantly had to make the decision to have it removed between head pain and my eye I couldn't catry on so anything to do with your eyes don't overlook it mine was so aggressive it only took weeks to spread I'm now 47 had it 9 yrs but had 5 operations to try save it but it's a destructive disease but at least now I can sleep better it's been over a year ago I had this procedure and still can't look at my face in a mirror I would not want someone else to go through this procedure. Don't panic after reading this but be aware of your sinuses being inflamed my eye was very swollen in the begining but my distruction was also made worse by mrsa x
