Painful ankles at the moment but some kind of pain in my legs most days.
A Lot of days it is very hard to get the legs from the knees downwards to work at all
Sore skin with my rash.
My legs feel very hot like burning sensation I put them up on big pillows as I get woken in the night several times with the burning and need to change the pillow over to cool them down. I am seeing my GP about this on Tuesday I feel it has something to do with Vasculitis consultant does not think so? I want to be referred to pain management clinic.
Also have pain in one leg, hip, ankle, mainly due to spinal stenosis and related foot drop.
Yes I frequently can't control my legs properly. They are uncoordinated, and turn into what feel like lumps of wood during relapses/flares. My balance is very very poor, and legs are a big part of it. It's why I always use at least 1 stick. I have cerebral vasculitis, in a very multiple sclerosis like form.
My legs go from the usual ache to very painful several times a day Drs not interested, it can happen at any time there are no obvious triggers.
I'm not sure what heavy legs are but sometimes mine feel as though they don't quite belong to me when walking. I've had cellulitis twice starting from right ankle then spreading rapidly up the leg - no idea if that's connected to TAK or whether it was due to a genuine infection.
swollen ankles and calfs with open sores and rashes.
I suffer with claudication - severe leg cramp like pain due to lack of blood flow from the damage the Takyasus has done to my aorta
I also have intermittent stabbing pains in leg muscles.
Due to minor stroke right leg drags and weak when walking
Yes sometimes but, thankfully, not too often. Does anyone get the 'these are not my legs, are they?' feeling or is it just me?
I will/would be interested in seeing these results correlated Susan- in fact I'm sure that we all would.
Please give my love to John, will you please.
Best wishes AndrewT
leg cramps at night
I often have burning legs & feet in bed
Feel like jelly legs
Voted no. WG/GPA - Other than when flaring legs are good. Ankles tend to swell at the end of the day, particularly if I have been sitting in the office all day, but I am advised this is due to blood pressure tablets.
I voted "heavy legs". I have had uncomfortable legs since my late 20's following child bearing. After that I had varicose vein treatment both as an in and out patient.
I have worn support stockings (on repeat NHS prescription) since which are a great help but they are hot to wear and difficult to get on if my hands are sore for any reason.
I am ok while I can keep on the move but standing for any length of time soon becomes uncomfortable. I do most shopping by home delivery.
I have just got a swivel, bar type stool which I use in the kitchen; it is an enormous help when preparing meals, vegs, etc.
Lots of leg muscle spasms especially when putting on socks, shoes, tights. Also at any other time without actually moving.
When I was on cyclophosphamide, I experienced the most painful leg pains. Shooting pains that would start at the soles of my feet & move upward to my thighs. Pains diminished greatly two weeks after the cyclo stopped.
Pins and needles even when trying to sleep
Neurological damage / lack of sensation needing crutches and mobility scooter to move around.
Inflammation pain and limp
Pins and needles with burning and also horrible restless legs.
Burning sensation in thighs, and soles of feet. This can happen during the day or can be woken up during the night . Also I suffer with stiff knees and when I first get out of bed in the morning my ankles and feet feel stiff like they won't support me.
I have CSS and suffer from swollen ankles, which tends to be worse if I sit for too long. Consultant suggests this could be due to the Pregabalin tablets I take for the constant pins/needles feeling in my hands and feet. I take 1 tablet in the morning and 2 at night. However, I may take 2 tablets in the morning if I know I'll be more active that day.
I have mono-neuritis multiplex which affects the muscles mostly in the calves. The vasculitis has also affected the nerves leaving me with a balance problem. But both are improving.
One foot has neuropathy....both legs ok, so far!

Hi Su and all else,
apart from the restless legs, swelling and painful joints, I also have burning and weak knees that completely give out on me leading to my Doctor putting me on crutches or wheelchair for when the weakness gets to bad. Most of you know I suffer from Wuergoners as well as Chronic Arthritis so I am unsure which is due to which. but I must say the worst is the burning and restless legs I suffer at night I have been put on Sinemet CR 50MG/200MG of which I take two about one to two hours before retiring, even this has only lessoned but not stopped the restless legs.
I have occasional pins and needles and restless legs as well as constant numbness. I have some permanent swelling caused by my 'Foot Up' support.. But generally my legs are a bit weak and I have to be careful if I've been sitting down for an hour or so...to make sure my legs are supporting me....before I take any steps.
my shins are very painful when lying down.
When I have a rash my legs burn. Often swelling around the ankles or the whole lower leg. Hip pain on and off, can be very sharp. Often very painful night cramp in legs feet and hands.
Have had a strange sensation, top front of left leg, for some time now. leg feels numb and sometimes cold. Usually when I've been standing for too long. Legs feel very heavy when walking back across my fields up 'gentle' slope. Have to stop for a while.
Increase in leg cramp is one of the reasons I saw my GP at the beginning of my symptoms.
