Finally, we may have found the smoking gun.
We had been able to put it aside, and the hospital agreed they had made a mistake when they said Margaret had Cirrhosis. And was, in fact, NASH with Grade 1 fibrosis. Still, NASH was a surprise, as Magaret was a nondrinker, not obese, and had no health conditions that would even be considered for

How to mitigate effects of antibiotics?
In a couple of weeks' time i'm going to be taking a course of oral vancomycin, a potent antibiotic. I have had considerably worsened RLS/PLMD symptoms on certain antibiotics before. On this occasion I can't elect a different antibiotic. Nor can i take probiotics. I'm seeking suggestions as to how

Fighting for corrections is so hard.
I am coming up on the one year of my wife's passing. On this day last year, she was sitting in her hospital bed eating frozen fruit. She was at 99% Sat with 1l of O2, and the plan was to turn it off in the morning. LFT's bang on Normal. Indirect Billi is still high, direct normal. Albumin low Plat low

antibiotics
ladies watch out for those antibiotics. Look up C-diff. It’s a horrible bacterial infection that can be brought on by some if not all antibiotics. It was a horrible experience. Especially with fighting cancer and low counts probably makes it worse. I was in the hospital 11 days. It is highly contagious

Finally some progress
Those who followed our Journey, know this is such a painful process of grief. Two weeks ago, the hospital wrote it would not change the factual information in my wife's chart. In her chart it had been written she had Biopys proven Nash Cirrhosis, which led doctors looking at ultrasounds that said

Treating PD with levodopa combined with tetracycline (Effects of levodopa on gut bacterial antibiotic resistance in Parkinson’s disease rat)
The combination of levodopa and antibiotics, such as tetracycline and vancomycin, in the treatment of PD may decrease the amount of corresponding antibiotic resistance genes in gut bacteria, which would give a theoretical basis for treating PD with levodopa combined with tetracycline and vancomycin in

Oxidative Stress (ROS), Sleep and the Gut Microbiome: Staying Alive
I am just back from a challenging (humbling) multiday backpack in the High Sierras of California. Very beautiful but drought conditions, dry stream water sources made it more difficult. Here is a pre-note on my own regimen: After completing my two phase radiation treatments for oligometastatic PC:

New to Bronchiectasis
Hi everyone, A few months ago, my pulmonologist diagnosed me with bronchiectasis after I asked for a sputum test that found many strenotrophomonas. My pulmonologist tried several antibiotics that were unsuccessful. About a month ago, I took a trip to Florida and found myself hospitalized there for 3

So fed up
Hi folks I haven't posted in a long while but have been keeping up with reading others. I'm sorry but I really just want to vent as feeling quite low and I suppose angry at the moment. We all know it can take a long while for diagnosis but I genuinely feel if I was listened to I wouldn't be at the stage

Hello everyone, I hope you guys can stand a less serious question. I've been on hemodialysis for the last year and a half. I received Vancomycin, which saved my life but took out my kidneys. So one day no kidney issues, the next day dialysis. That actually has nothing to do with my question, just

SIBO and Antibiotics
I have been seeing a Gastro consultant who is almost certain that I am suffering from SIBO. I really struggle to tolerate any oral antibiotics. I have tried Rifaximin, ciprofloxacin ,vancomycin and Doxycycline and have not been able to take any them for any more than 2 days. Is anyone aware of any alternative

Stem cell transplant anniversary
It is now exactly 12 months almost to the minute since I watched the bag of stem cells slowly drain into the Hickman line. It's been a very eventful 12 months to say the least. Since my last post 9 months ago I had a difficult end to 2019. I was hospitalised for pneumonia in October which turned out
