Being diabetic is a balance and one we can not always project. Living with the other is even more difficult. My monitor for being a diabetic is a life savor. Are you Type 1 or 2.

Possible type 1. Under investigation at the moment even though my hba1c was 43 but my sugars are all over the place at the moment with my highest being 20 but it came down to 8 after 3 hours.

MarySi, So sorry things seem so difficult at this time. With the doctors appointment I'm sure the will start to narrow some of the issue's down. Do you take daily blood surga reading before meals? Have you taken then taken them 2 hours after. Recoed these for the doctor and take them in with you. If you not have a blood testing kit go to the pharmacy and buy one not expensive and self explanitory. The pharmacy could direvt you on use. This way the doctor has an ides of what is happening on a daily basis, write down everything you are eating-putting in you mouth down to ghee on what you are making. All things effect our levels you may see a pattern off what makes you high or low. This would be very helpful to your doctor as a diabetic we take these reports in every visits. Helps them when they look at our A1C levels. Have a great day.
