I know you asked this months ago and probably already have the answer but I would say it’s probably 99% most likely due to your diabetes. I can always tell when my scores are going high as my moth becomes insanely dry and no amount of Water helps. When it happens just keep drinking as it can help to stop ketones building if your blood sugars are high. They say one glass of water an hr to keep hydrated and help flush out any ketones.

Hi! I’m new here, but am plagued with a dry mouth and my tongue hurts so much and all the time. My sugars are up and have been in the 200-400 range which is not typical for me. I was controlling it with my diet. Obviously a type 2 here!

Sorry to hear you’re struggling with a sore mouth. The best long term option is to lower your scores but this isn’t easy and can take time, I would suggest lots of water to keep your mouth moist and also maybe book an appointment with your dr as they may be able to prescribe something to help with the soreness. Also seeing a Dentist could be a good route to go down. Good luck x

Thanks so much for your friendly advice!! I already drink a lot of water, but will step it up and see if that helps.
