Why education on clinical trials in plain language is needed.

I am not surprised that cancer patients struggle with understanding clinical research jargon, especially during the early stages of the informed consent process. Clinical research needs to be communicated in plain language so that patients may understand what their treatment entails and the role of the research investigator versus the primary oncologist.
