Diagnosed with fibro, but no care giver wants to or knows how to treat me.

Have been in pain and have had a disruptes life for over 17 years. Been to so many doctors and cannot even remember them all. Tried ever traditional treatment dor fibro with no success. Doctor have basically given up on me, but I am not ready to give up. I cannot be the only one that Lyrica doesnt work for them. I just want to have a tiny bit of a normal life. Have excepted it is a life long disfunction, but dont think my life should stop. I have only gottwn worse drom year to year. Have no options and basically stay on the narcotics because I don't want to be admitted into a detox program. I have tried to go odf them with and with out doctors supervision and failed all the tries. Body is so addicted necasue no one knoqs what to do except up the doses. Not a fox only bandaid. Looking for some where near me that is doing a clinical study to help patients be able to function in life. Hoping to find something before I breakdown and quit.

Hello, I can only give you a personal, but not medical opinion on this one. My brother is opiate dependent and the only true way to detox is to get admitted to a detox center for many weeks. Here is why as explained to me by a detox doctor. Opiates will, if you try to stop, will create even more pain, and this pain is often described as 'pain all over', and this is the way opiates keep you addicted.

A fibromyalgia diagnosis is a catchall diagnosis and really a syndrome. For example, many people who have had Lyme were for years 'diagnosed' with fibromyalgia. So you may have another condition, yet to be properly diagnosed, or it could actually be from chronic opiate withdrawal. If I were you, I would find a very good facility to detox, visit and discuss. I know that it can be scary, but it can work. My brother did it and he did it in a hospital. They knew what they were doing and he had very little distress and came out clean. He was there for 6 weeks. The two week stints are probably useless.

I also think that once a doctor knows that you are taking opiates, they do not take your health conditions and pain too seriously.

I hate to say it but know you are right. Problem is I am primary care fior my fur babies in the position of geriatric dogs, I have 8 catsand 4 dogs, 3 of which are very old.

I have the obligation to take care of my 4 legged babies at their time of need, last weeks of living and be the one to help them cross over to the rainbow. Not being around for 6 weeks right now is not doable. Sure it is an excuss, but a valid one. My health qill have to wait. Thank ypu foe you great imput and information from your experience.
